It's back! With the goal of bringing a little cheer to patients in the hospital during the holiday season, the deviantART Holiday Card Project connects deviants from around the world and applies their tremendous artistic abilities in designing and creating uplifting holiday cards. In past years, the Project has received more than 5,000 cards sent in by more than 1,000 deviants from 50 different countries/political regions. Cards were then divvied up and distributed in-person by deviantART members to local Los Angeles, CA hospitals, with additional cards given to various hospitals in the U.S. and abroad for hospital staff members to hand out

Still here

Yep, I'm still here. Haven't done much photography recently, though we did have a freak snow day last month and I was able to get some shots in then. Now I'm working on a new painting. Haven't painted in a while, but this piece is proving to be a bit of a challenge, as it involves fabric and tapestry. I just need to look to Vermeer and Rembrandt for inspiration when it comes to capturing textiles in acrylic.

As you by now have most likely realized I got a new camera for christmas and have been bitten by the photography bug. However, living in the suburbs I find that I'm running out of things to photograph. I wish there were more interesting things around me to take pictures of. Since it's winter I'm not able to photograph flowers and plants as I'd like to (and most likely will in the spring/early summer). If anyone has any ideas of things in the suburbs that might make an interesting photo don't hesitate to share them.  I will soon be going back to school, so maybe I'll have some photo-ops on campus (hopefully!). Was just invite to join Phi Theta Kappa. I'm really excited. This comes up right at the point in my academic career where I'm starting to run low on self-esteem and confidence. The universe must be looking out for me.
